Dear Residents of Milo at Bayside,
With the very real threat posed by Hurricane Milton, Pinellas County public safety authorities have ordered a mandatory evacuation for Zone A – the evacuation zone in which Milo at Bayside is located.
Officials expect life-threatening storm surge, flooding and winds when the hurricane makes landfall later Wednesday. Residents should be in a safe location by Wednesday morning.
If you choose to ignore the evacuation order, you risk being cut off from police, fire and emergency medical services for an extended time. Property staff will not be able to respond to emergency requests during the hurricane.
The County has opened emergency shelters for residents in mandatory evacuation zones, as well as those whose homes are vulnerable to storm surge, flooding, and those that may be more susceptible to wind damage.
Three emergency shelters are available to you:
Additional shelter and hurricane-related information can be found at: https://pinellas.gov/emergency-information/public-shelters/. The St. Petersburg Hurricane Center web page can be found at: https://www.stpete.org/residents/public_safety/hurricane_center.php.
If you choose not to use a shelter, please leave the area and head inland (east) as soon as possible, taking your emergency supplies, pets and important documents. Remember to let someone outside this area know where you are going and make sure your contact information is up to date on the community’s online portal.
Remember: Local authorities may shut off power to the property as the hurricane approaches. Travel may be restricted, and roadways may be blocked or closed.
Please unplug everything in your unit except major appliances and, when possible, move items off the floors before you leave.
Here are other recommendations to prepare your household:
Our employees have been instructed to take common-sense steps to protect themselves and their families. They will not be on the property during the hurricane.
Please act now to stay safe and let me know if you have questions or concerns.
